EVAN & CHRISTA HUNTER - BALLROOM DANCE TEACHERS & CHOREOGRAPHERS

My wife and I enjoy experimenting with small businesses but dance and teaching has always been at the heart of our relationship.

I learned to dance at 17 when I started going to social dance events in Tallahassee and turned professional a few years later when I started teaching and training at Fred Astaire. While I was there I fell in love with an even wider rang of dance styles that I hadn’t run into in my social dancing days like Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, and Samba.

A few years later Christa and I met at an historical dance and costuming event in Williamsburg Virginia where we discovered we shared an interest in teaching dance and in Scottish history and culture in America.

Coming from a ten year career in unicycling, juggling, and circus education Christa gladly switched to ballroom dancing since she had been planning to pursue dancing and was just waiting for an opportunity to start.

Now we split our time between teaching, hosting social dance events including Scottish and English Country Dancing and volunteering at Scottish Festivals around the south with our 2 year old daughter Keira.
